You will be heartily welcomed with greetings and shifted towards tourist standard hotel. You can enjoy your leisure time during afternoon at your hotel or come out for walk around the Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening we will serve you some typical Nepali dinner with folk dance performances in a local restaurant

Day 02: Kathmandu: sightseeing and trek preparation

We tour world heritage sites which hold vast cultural, religious and historical for Nepalese people. The amazing sites include Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'monkey Temple'(Swayambhunath) and Bouddhanath.

Swayambhu, a temple standing atop a small hill at the north-western part of Kathmandu valley, means ‘Self-Existent One.’ Swoyambhunath is believed to have been established more than 2,500 years ago. An inscription dated 460 A.D. states that the construction was carried out by King Manadeva. By the thirteenth century Swoyambhunath had itself developed into an important Buddhist learning site. The history of Kathmandu Valley is said to have started with the beginning of Swoyambhu. The largest image of the Sakyamuni Buddha in Nepal is in a monastery next to the Stupa. Behind the hilltop is a temple dedicated to Manjusri of Saraswati – the goddess of learning. Statues and shrines of Buddhist and Hindu deities dot the Stupa complex. Large numbers of Buddhists and Hindus alike visit Swoyambhunath. Swoyambhu is perhaps the best place to observe the religious harmony in Nepal.

The Bouddhanath Stupa is one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal. You can see Buddhist monks chanting prayers and rotating prayer wheels in the stupa’s premise. It is the holiest Buddhist Stupa outside of Tibet and the centre of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu. Surrounding the Bouddhanath Stupa are narrow alleys and streets with colorful homes, vendors and Tibetan monasteries.

The Kathmandu Durbar Square is one among the three Durbar Squares of the Kathmandu Valley. The Durbar Square consists of a palace complex, and was also the site where the Kings of Nepal were crowned. Many of the temples and monuments of the Durbar Square were damaged during the 2015 Earthquake, but re-construction is underway. The temples and the palace complex of the Kathmandu Durbar Square present amazing intricate art and architecture done on the woodwork, the metal and the stones of the doors, windows and pillars.

Pashupatinath is one of the four most important religious sites in Asia for Shiva devotees. Pashupatinath, dedicated to Shiva ‘the Destroyer’, is the holiest Hindu pilgrimage destination in Nepal. Although the Pashupatinath Temple was only built in the fifth century and later renovated by Malla kings, the holy site is said to have existed from the beginning of the millennium. A gold-plated roof, four silver doors, and wood carvings of the finest quality decorate the pagoda temple of Pashupatinath. Temples dedicated to several other Hindu and Buddhist deities surround the temple of Pashupatinath. Behind the temple is the River Bagmati. On the banks of Bagmati are raised platforms used as cremation sites for Hindus. Pashupatinath, in a limited sense, literally means the Lord of the Animals. But animal is also a term that denotes the animal like instincts in human beings.

Day 03 - Fly to Bhairahawa, transfer to Lumbini Hotel and Sightseeing Tour

An early morning transfer to Bhairahawa will be done today. The flight from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa takes about 30 to 40 minute. Upon your arrival at Bhairahawa, you will be transferred to a 5-star hotel in Lumbini. After checking in at the hotel, we will begin our sightseeing tour of Lumbini.

Lumbini is the place where, according to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 563 BCE. Lumbini is one of many magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of the Buddha. It has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi Temple and several others. Many monuments, monasteries and a museum- the Lumbini International Research Institute are also within the holy site. Also there is the “Puskarini”, or the Holy Pond, where the Buddha’s mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he had his first bath. At other sites near Lumbini, earlier Buddhas were, according to tradition, born, then achieved ultimate Enlightenment and finally relinquished their earthly forms. It is 4.8 km in length and 1.6 km in width and is bordered by a large monastic zone in which only monasteries can be built, no shops, hotels or restaurants. It is separated into an eastern and western monastic zone- the eastern having the Theravadin monasteries, the western having Mahayana and Vajrayana monasteries. After spending time exploring and looking around at Lumbini and its many monasteries, we will return back to the hotel.

Day 04 – Transfer to the airport and fly back to Kathmandu

An early morning flight back to Kathmandu will be taken today. After arriving back in Kathmandu, you can spend the rest of the day as you please, shopping or just roaming around the streets of the city.
