Mountain biking through the high Himalayan desert of Nepal, the views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri shows the magnificence of the Mustang and Nepal in its full fathom. Muktinath:

Muktinath is a pilgrimage centre for Buddhists and Hindus; you will see Tibetan traders as well as Sadhus from the far south of India. The shrines, in a grove of trees, including a Buddhist monastery and the Vishnu temple of Jiwala Mayi. An old temple nearby shelter spring and natural gas jets, which provides Muktinath with the famous eternal flame. The earth – water – fire combination accounts for Muktinath's great religious significance. Spectacular views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche peak and several other 8000mts peaks are visible.

Day 1 - Landing at Kathmandu

On your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, our representatives will pick you up with your name on a sign board and will escort you to the hotel.

At the hotel, we have organized a small welcome program just for you.

 

Day 2 - Sightseeing Kathmandu

After breakfast, we will be taking you to a short walk around Kathmandu Durbar Square, Kumari’s Palace and the Durbar Square Museum that once used to be a palace where the kings lived.

On this day, we will be having a short briefing on entire journey for the great expedition ahead. We will also be visiting local hire shop to pick up last minute equipment required.

 

Day 3 - Fly to Pokhara

From Kathmandu, you will take an early morning flight to the lake-side city of Pokhara. The flight takes about 30 minutes and upon your arrival there, you will be first taken to your hotel for your check-in. We take our bike with us to Pokhara and have test ride there.

 

Day 4 - Ride around Pokhara

On this day, we will explore Pokhara city with our bike. Pokhara has a lot of tourist destinations to visit. Various prominent places of the city will be visited today, like the Bindabasini temple, the Davis fall, the Gupteshwor cave, the Seti River Gorge and finally boating on the pristine Phewa Lake and visiting the temple of Taal Barahi.

 

Day 5 - Flight to Jomsom and cycling to Kagbeni

On this very day, we will begin our Biking expedition to Lower Muktinath. We will wake up early in the morning to catch the first flight to Jomsom. The flight from Pokhara to Jomsom is known as dramatic fly in between the two 8000 meters Dhaulagiri and Annapurna I which is called the deepest gorse of the world.

Upon reaching Jomsom, our guide will refit mountain bike and start riding to Kagbeni. It is 11.4 kilometer takes about 3 hours. The first day of riding is in wide Kaligandaki River valley and typical local villages.

 

Day 6 - Muktinath

This is truly the entry point to the Lower Mustang Valley. The rider after this point will only take you higher to closer to the highest point of the trip, the Muktinath (3800m). Riding uphill is a unique experience with the mind-blowing view from that height. Also, there are few interesting villages on the way including Jharkot village. Once reached to Muktinath, you get time to explore the place and the Holy temple.

 

Day 7 - Cycling down to Kalopani via Marpha

Today is a long day and down hill riding to Kalopani from Muktinath. we start quite earlier. it is fun riding down via typical villages like Marpha, Jomsom and others. we stop several times to explore local villages, monastery and eating Lunch. Riding path is all jeep track along the bank of Kaligandaki River.

 

Day 8 - Biking to Tatopani

It is a short ride to Tatopani today. Most of the cycling track is downhill involving some interesting monuments. Beautiful waterfalls, typical cultural villages, scenic mountain, wide Kaligandaki River valley and many more. We can enjoy bath at natural hot spring once reached Tatopani which translates to “Hot Spring” itself.

 

Day 9 - Biking to Beni and drive from Naundanda

Riding road at the bank of the Kali gandaki River is in between two high hills. About 20 kilometer rough road and down hill, we reach Beni Bazaar. Our private jeep will be waiting for us to take to Naundanda then our ride will start to Sarangkot we will be staying in this village which offers the superb, an extraordinary view of lake, landscapes and Mountain.

 

Day 10 - Sunrise at Sarangkot and drive to Bhumdi

On the earliest of dawn, we picture the magnificent scene of sunrise in the Himalayas  from Sarangkot view point. The scene is magnificent as the place looks like floating in the sky and the first ray of sun touching Himalayas is also clearly visible.

After devouring this glorious scene, we will ride down hill to Harpan valley then climb up to the Bhumdi village.

 

Day 11 - Back to Lakeside, Pokhara

Today is the last day of our rides but not the least. We will ride through Pumdi village, forest and terraces which is different than what we have ridden up in the Mustang. We will take a stop at world peace Pagoda for a Kora (to make a right circle of the stupa) then we will hit the queen forest single-track after this single track we will ride back to Lakeside.

 

Day 12 - Back to Kathmandu

In the early morning, we will be returning back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. We take the Prithvi Highway which is approximately 7 hours drive to reach Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we return to Hotel and have time to rest and relax. You can enjoy spa and massage treatments to soothe the body pain from trekking.

 

Day 13 - Final Departure

It may be an end to one journey, but another will surely begin! Your adventure to Lower Mustang Biking Tour has officially came to an end on this day.

Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight time, our representative will transfer you to the airport.

Accommodations

We will be staying at 3 Star Standard hotels which have deluxe suite in Kathmandu for 2 nights and the best available hotels during the tour. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 300.

Meals

All meals will be provided during tour while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests. While on the tour, we have breakfast and dinner in the lodges/hotels we spend the night and lunch on our way to the next destination. The hotel menu includes Nepalese, Tibetan and the more common continental cuisines for us to choose from.

Best Time to Travel

The best time for the Tour is spring (Febraury to June) and autumn (September to December) seasons. The temperature is moderate in these seasons and guarantees amazing views through the trip. Although this trek can be undertaken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.
